About the Position:
These positions are located within the Civilian Human Resources Agency (CHRA) North Central Region Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Recruitment Division, and may be eligible for local commuting area remote work in the future as determined by agency policy.
These positions will be filled at the GS-05, 06, or 07 level. If selected at the GS-05 or GS-06 level, noncompetitive promotion to the full performance GS-07 is authorized.
Duties
Provide recruitment and placement support services to Human Resources Specialists and managers/supervisors.
Coordinate with customers regarding status of recruitment, selection, credentialing, security, and Entrance on Duty (EOD) for the organization.
Ensure all essential personnel data recorded in Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) is submitted properly and on a timely basis.
Process incoming Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs) to ensure proper coding per regulatory guidance.
Utilize automation equipment and various software programs to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print a variety of documents for the organization.
Input data into automated personnel systems to code and/or review documentation for completion of recruitment and placement processes.

Basic Requirement for a Human Resources Assistant (Office Automation):
GS-05 level - Specialized Experience Required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled which includes: 1) providing administrative support in an office setting; 2) responding to customer inquiries; and 3) utilizing office automation to perform administrative tasks. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in federal service. (GS-04).

Education Substitution at GS-05: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify for the GS-05 level if you possess four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience at GS-05: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06 Level - Specialized Experience Required: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing administrative support in an office setting; 2) using automated systems and/or databases to process personnel actions and/or applicant builds; 3) responding to customer inquiries; and 4) reviewing personnel documents for completeness and accuracy prior to processing and/or uploading into an automated system/database.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
GS-07 Level - Specialized Experience Required: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) handling all aspects of onboarding and pre-employment initiation including: job offers, security clearance, drug testing, and physicals; 2) reviewing new hire (or employee) documents for completeness, accuracy, and obtaining additional information as required; 3) conducting In-Processing of New Hire candidates; and 4) utilizng a civilian human resources automated system or database to complete actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted for the GS-06 and GS-07 levels.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.
-For the GS-05 level, applicants may not be promoted more than 2 grades within the preceding 52 weeks.
-For the GS-06 level, applicants must have 52 weeks at the GS-05 (or equivalent).
-For the GS-07 level, applicants must have 52 weeks at the GS-06 (or equivalent).

Education
