This is a Senior Level (SL) position in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Resilience, Office of Resilience Strategy, in Washington D.C. The incumbent serves as the agency's Principal Advisor, Office of Resilience Strategy responsible for advising the Assistant Administrator for Resilience Strategy on strategic developments and implementations for continuous improvement across Resilience and the rest of FEMA.
Duties
This position resides in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Resilience, Office of Resilience Strategy.
Qualifications
While time in grade requirements do not apply, typically, experience of this nature is gained at or above the GS-15 grade level in the Federal service, or its equivalent with State or local government, the private sector, or nongovernmental organizations. At this level, you would have had responsibility for planning, directing and evaluating work that included managing and/or supervising other managers 25% of the time. Applicants who do not submit a supplemental narrative statement that addresses these factors will be ineligible for further consideration.
Experience working in or with local, state, territorial or tribal governments in a leadership role.
Experience applying an equity lens in policymaking, strategy development, and/or program design.
Comprehensive knowledge of community resilience, climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, hazard mitigation, disaster risk management, and/or a related field.
