About the Position: This position is in the Family Medicine Residency Clinic on the first floor of Womack Army Medical Center. It is an outpatient clinic that serves Service Members, Veterans and their dependents in addition to supporting the Womack Family Medicine Resident Program. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Hours of operation are 0630-1700. The work schedule will include three to four Saturdays per year.

Duties

Conduct program analysis to optimize healthcare delivery systems. Identify problems with healthcare system processes and make recommendations for process improvement. Plan work of subordinates to improve quality and productivity or work performed. Optimize healthcare delivery responsibilities of the assigned organizational unit by identifying, analyzing, and documenting issues, patterns, and trends. Monitor the assigned component of the healthcare delivery system for trends, analysis, and comparisons, gathers and interprets data, and makes recommendations. Manage execution of the budget determining whether requests for funds and expenditures are proper, justified, and timely; consults the preparer on excessive, inadequate or unjustified costs. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates by setting and adjusting short-term priorities such as preparing schedules for completion of work, assigning work to subordinates based on priorities and capability of employee.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working within a medical treatment facility (MTF) with health care systems; analyzing data to improve health care services; assisting with preparing and monitoring annual budgets; utilizing health care office automation systems such as electronic medical records systems, timekeeping systems, MS office software packages; and/or assisting in workload distribution to subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
