You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Leader in the Public Works Dept Ft. Worth of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will serve as working leader over at least three trades and craft employees and serving as the coordinator/team lead between supervisor and team of employees. You will plan, lay out, and complete the installation, modification and repair of systems. You will interpret building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering, drawings, maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the work. You will utilize hand tools applicable to the trade, such as power tools, pipe threaders, jetters and test equipment, flow meters, multimeters and other testing equipment. You will motivate and lead other workers in accomplishing the work. You will communicate effectively to brief the supervisor and pass on instructions, work methods and procedures. You will uphold safety practices related to work hazards related to different trades and ensuring all standards are upheld and maintained by employees.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You may be required to obtain and maintain a current Environmental Protection Agency Universal certification for working with all types of refrigerants at high and low pressures.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You work at a job site or location other than the permanently assigned location.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.
