The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Supervisor of the Maintenance Operation Center (MXOC). They will oversee both operations and personnel actions within the shop.
Duties
As daily events occur, maintains MIS data integrity regarding maintenance flying schedule requirements and debriefs as required.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Maintains liaison with the Maintenance Coordinating Function (MCF) of the Command Post.
Notes projected completion date, studies actual aircraft status and informs higher levels within chain of command when aircraft is to be mission ready.
Prepares effective training plans to maximize Reserve training.

- Incumbent is on 24-hour call to negotiate shipment or receipt of engines as required for aircraft in ENMCS or other emergency conditions
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
- A Secret Clearance is required
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT AIR FORCE EMPLOYEES: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of all applicable technical orders, AFIs, policies, and local policies and procedures to monitor aircraft engine status; maintain spare engine inventory levels; prepare required documents for and track engine shipments; and perform other administrative tasks related to engine management in support of installation's flying mission.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR NON-AIR FORCE EMPLOYEES: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-10, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive and knowledge of all repair/overhaul/modification and related support production methods, processes, facilities, machinery, equipment, manpower, and materials required to plan and schedule immediate production control for the overhaul, modification, and/or repair of a wide variety of very complex weapon systems to include combat and strategic fixed wing aircraft, missile system, or major end item.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of auxiliary power units, aircraft pylons, propulsion nomenclatures and operating parameters
2. Knowledge of applicable MIS(s) engine reporting procedures in propulsion maintenance to perform the proper procedures for processing engine management data.
3. Knowledge and skill of applicable engine management governing regulations, procedures and instructions to assure continuing availability of engines and equipment.
4. Initiates material support to meet aircraft or end-item production schedules promptly and effectively
5. Knowledge of and skill in the use of automated maintenance information systems and aircraft maintenance documentation processes to collect, compile, and correlate production data from a variety of sources and use that data to determine compliance status of scheduled maintenance, inspection, and modification actions.
6. Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine maintenance, technical manuals, and directives to determine work requirements.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
