The Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) Coronado is looking for the best and brightest to join our team as an installation Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC). The SARC will serve as a designated program managers of sexual assault victim support services. The position is located on Naval Base San Diego. FFSC provides an array of quality of life, enrichment, and crisis response programs to support the personal and family resiliency of active duty, reservists, and their families.

Duties

The SARC oversees implementation and execution of all elements of the FFSC Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program, to include prevention, awareness, and response to survivors of sexual assault, supported command personnel, and other SAPR stakeholders. The SARC ensures comprehensive victim services are provided through a coordinated community response. Manages all aspects of the training of victim advocates and others involved in supporting the SAPR program. Coordinates prevention and awareness campaigns and special events to raise awareness of SAPR. Serves as the co-chair of Sexual Assault Case Management Group (SACMG). Tracks data, responds to reports, and updates the case management database. Responsible for all certification inspection standards related to the FFSC SAPR Program. The SARC is supervised by the FFSC Director; with program support and oversight from the Navy Region Southwest Regional Sexual Assault Response Coordinator. The SARC also coordinates with the installation Commanding Officer on matters pertaining to victim support, meeting annual SAPR training requirements, and implementation of base SAPR policies. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation and obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance (T3).
  • A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any scheduled appointments.
  • Upon hire, as a condition of employment, the applicant must successfully complete, obtain, and maintain Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) certification.

Qualifications

Completion of a four-year degree in behavioral health, social science, or criminal justice. Three years of experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral health or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above Experience with the Navy SAPR program preferred Must have the ability and skill to provide effective trainings and briefings The ability to maintain accurate statistics for program data collection and reports Must have the ability to understand, be sensitive to, and have empathy for victims; must have the ability to develop trusting helping relationships and to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. Must have the ability to intervene in crisis situations, using sound professional judgment, ethical practice and common sense Must be able to work cooperatively with military and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement and legal personnel on behalf of victims Must be skilled in written and verbal communication; and have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and use of office software applications and equipment Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English

Education
