About the position: This position will be assigned to the .Liberty Pool on Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico.

Duties

Manages the aquatics program. Ensures the pool is operational during summer months. Instructs lower graded lifeguards in specific tasks, procedures and techniques. Ensures timely accomplishment of work assignments. Maintains awareness of status and progress and makes day-to-day adjustments based on established priorities. Maintains records of work accomplishments as required by program directives/procedures. Makes available written instructions, materials and supplies. Gives on-the job training to new employees. Successfully conducts and documents weekly safety inspection. Develops and maintains an effective safety training plan for all areas. Coordinates/conducts weekly in-service training. Effective maintains required lifeguard and instructor qualifications and capabilities throughout employment. Continuously and effective monitors swimming aid. Qualifying Experience: Limited knowledge acquired on the job of swimming facility rules, work procedures, equipment, and materials to perform recurring tasks. Must possess a current and valid nationally recognized lifeguard certification covering lifesaving and water rescue methods skills and procedures. Must possess a valid nationally recognized basic first aid certification and CPR certification that includes adult, child and infant procedures.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
