About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Facility on Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico.
Duties
Reports directly to the director of Outdoor Recreation. Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or the director in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities and equipment. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Schedules reservations for rental or recreational areas, activities, trips and tours; notifies participants of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or tools to be rented to participants, checking them for condition upon their return; inspects established safety systems of indoor and outdoor facilities, areas, tools and equipment. Assists the director and programmer in Outdoor Adventure Programs to include planning, marketing requests, answers inquiries about item, place, transportation, or other matters related to the activities scheduled. Ensures volunteer drivers are qualified on policies and safety directives; manages Trap and Skeet and Paint-ball monthly inventories and ensures reports are received from those managers; routinely briefs on-base and off-base organizations regarding the variety of programs offered by the flight. Controls Recreational Vehicle Storage lot to include handling of finances, issuing of lots, and monthly inspections. Receives payments for all activities in outdoor recreation equipment, tours, and recreational areas, deposits funds, daily financial reports and ensures all daily reports and documentation are completed in a timely manner. Guides Recreation Aids on daily tasks, training, documentation, closing procedures and funds management. Operates the RecTrac Management Software System for all Outdoor Recreation transactions. Monitors VMPF sign-off for all personnel on Cannon AFB during PCS. Monitors the Outdoor Recreation Facebook page for comments and updates page for news and information. Communicates with the Outdoor Recreation mechanic on when equipment is going out and coming in to include preparation and condition. Maintains PCI Compliance and conducts VeriFone transaction

Applicants must have experience which provides a working familiarity with routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; equipment rental, and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules, and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenburg Amendment) or 1068. An individual convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Must have a current and valid driver's license. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
