This position will serve as the Supervisory Nurse for the Haskell Indian Health Center nursing department. The incumbent plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates the clinic plan for nursing care delivered to patients ranging from neonate through geriatric age. The position reports to the Director of Nursing at Haskell Indian Health Center.
Duties
Manages clinical nursing operations by establishing, maintaining, and supervising a comprehensive ambulatory nursing care program.
Evaluates outcomes of the clinical nursing program and implements quality improvements.
Plans work to be accomplished by nursing staff.
Ensures that nursing care is consistent with the accrediting agency, agency policy, and national standards of care.
Performs direct patient care as needed.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School:Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Must submit a copy of nursing license that includes an expiration date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-11: Applicant(s) must meet one of the following minimum requirements to meet the GS-11 level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of professional nursing experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, AND possess a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree in nursing from a professional nursing educational program. Professional nursing experience includes the following type of work and/or tasks: making patient care assignments for Registered Nurses, Practical Nurses, and non-licensed support staff appropriate to skill or licensure level; overseeing workflow on a patient care unit; contributing to unit policy development; leading a performance improvement project or being responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting performance improvement data for a patient care department.
Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
