This position is located in the Western Program Service Center, Operations Support Branch, 1221 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA.
Duties
Serves as full deputy and "alter ego" to the Operations Support Branch Chief, PD # 5D082S and is responsible and accountable for the overall program management, direction, planning, objectives, policy-making and coordination of the Branch. Assumes full responsibility for operations in the absence of the OSB Chief and acts on all matters with full authority of commitment within assigned jurisdiction. The incumbent performs confidential and sensitive assignments for the OSB Chief and speaks on his/her behalf at internal and external meetings and conferences.

- U.S. Citizenship Required.

- Fingerprinting and background and/or security investigation required.

Qualifications
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include developing, examining, investigating, adjudicating or authorizing claims for retirement, survivors insurance, disability insurance, pension claims or other related programmatic or managerial experience; developing and/or overseeing the development of written instructions or policies pertaining to SSA PSC or field program issues; supervising or leading SSA nonsupervisory professional staff; planning, organizing, and monitoring a workload or project; making oral presentations to a variety of groups and individuals.
