This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Capital Markets and Accounting Policy Branch, Exam Support Section in Washington, DC of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and provides support in capital market risk management and regulatory capital requirements of financial institutions, including creating written policy recommendations and working in close coordination with the Deputy Director, Associate Directors, Corporate Experts, and Chief of the Section.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-14: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience performing financial or economic analyses related to capital markets risks associated with innovative financial instruments, or assisting in the development of, or compliance with, regulatory proposals or interpretations that govern regulatory capital and/or capital markets activities. CG-15: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 14 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing financial or economic analyses to identify sources of capital markets risk associated with innovative financial instruments, or taking a leadership role in the development of, or compliance with, regulatory proposals or interpretations that govern regulatory capital and/or capital markets activities. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
