About the Position: Located on the Central Coast of California. It is an easy drive to the Pacific Ocean for beaches, fishing and water sports. Within easy reach are the high Sierras, a winter sports area where the snow is measured in feet and offers summer recreation to include superb camping, hiking and fishing.
Duties
Serve as a Training Technician within the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS), Fort Hunter Liggett, California.
Advisor on Army Training Requirements and Resource System (ATRRS) authorizations and sub quota management.
Responsible for scheduling, managing, and de-conflicting range and training area issues for Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard units training on Fort Hunter Liggett.
Inform customers and coordinates action by preparing memorandums of instruction, correspondence, training directives and policies, and weekly training reports.
Installation point of contact for the Department of the Army's automated Total Ammunition Management Information System.
Maintain the Long Range Training Calendar for the Installation reflecting internal and supported organization training and event schedules.
Establish and recommend training plans and programs for the organization considering training directives and materials issued by higher headquarters, and ensuring that necessary instructions are provided to subordinate activities.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- At times the incumbent will be required to work outdoors and may be exposed to extreme weather conditions to include extreme hot and cold, rain, ice and snow.
- In this position the incumbent may be required to work hours beyond the normal duty day or may be required to work weekends and evenings.
- In this position the incumbent at times may be required to wear personal protective equipment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves assisting in establishing training priorities, de-conflict and schedule training; assist and coordinate established training plans and programs.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
