This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Post Payment Division. As a/an Senior Post Payment Processing Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of the Post Payment Operations Support Section within the Post Payment Division of Modernization, Innovation, and Payment Resolution.
Duties
As a/an Senior Post Payment Processing Supervisor, you will:
Plan and schedule ongoing time-sensitive work, adjust staffing levels based on allocations made at higher echelons, oversee the development of improved work methods and procedures, and provides information to support higher level decision-making. Exercise complete authority in approving work plans for subordinate professional and technical employees.
Plan work and set priorities of subordinates; assist in developing performance standards and evaluating work performance; instructing employees on work and administrative matters; interviewing applicants and recommending appointments, promotions, training, and performance awards; and effecting minor disciplinary measures as warranted. Prepare and justify budgetary requirements for section.
Demonstrate proactive leadership to achieve maximum performance consistent with Payment Management's vision and values. Evaluate, motivate, coach, and counsel team in the performance of their duties to ensure all training and development needs are met and goals are achieved. Spot check work in progress to assess the quality and quantity, and to assure adherence to established procedures and deadlines.
Meet with management staff, including the Director PPD. Represent superiors in conferences with officials of Federal Program Agencies (such as Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, and Department of Veterans Affairs) to formulate plans in connection with new extended programs and to provide improved procedures and methods in processing work to meet changing requirements and conditions.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: researching and applying policy and procedures in order to assist or participate in conducting claims research analysis and making recommendations to improve work processes and programs. Examples of such experience could include:
- Assisting or leading projects in a customer service environment
- Gathering supporting information to analyze workflow; assist in changing workflow, and work assignments; OR
- Communicating effectively with internal and external customers at all levels.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks.
