This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army National Guard Readiness Center, CIO/G-6, IT Operations Division, Schedule and Test Branch, in Arlington, Virginia

Duties

Provide enterprise application hosting and system administration for all applications. Manager the day-to-day information assurance and cyber security requirements. Perform systems administration and Information Assurance/Cyber Security administrative support of common services for systems and applications.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • IAW 8570.01-M - This requires Security+ Certification within the first 6 months of employment.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. IOR Basic Requirements: Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Addition to meeting the Basic Requirements above you must also meet the specialized experience below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying state of the art Enterprise Applications hosting technologies and/or cloud computing technologies (virtualization, routing, servers, storage, security, and application development) and knowing when life cycle replacement and server maintenance requirements are needed; applying systems integration methods and IT security principles and methods to plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment; identifying and anticipating server performance and determining when new or additional hardware/software will be required; understanding the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its controls, sufficient to support an Enterprise Data Processing/Hosting facility and be within compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-11 or equivalent).
