Duties
As a Business Services Support Specialist you will:
Provide the full range of business services in response to the specific needs of the organization
Assist program officials in defining the level and kinds of services needed to carry out assigned responsibilities and to accomplish project objectives
Develop and apply methods and procedures designed to provide business services to the serviced organization in the most effective manner possible
Conduct the purchase of a wide variety of specialized supplies, equipment, and services needed to support the operations of the organization using the Integrated Contracts Expert (ICE)
Advise managers in planning major purchases
Resolve problems related to the procurement process
Manage the security and emergency preparedness functions for the organization
Manage, operate, and maintain automated data and information systems
Contribute to the development, enhancement, and improvement of administration and operations of the organizations internal/ external systems, operating policies, planning, internal controls, assessments, and reporting requirements
Prepare and submit oral and written reports, reconciliations, assessments, briefings

Minimum Qualifications:
For GS-09:
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing administrative guidance to assist management in complying with administrative requirements in areas such as procurement/acquisition, property, facilities, and training; and working with management to address administrative issues that effect the delivery of business process improvements.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of specialized experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
For GS-11:
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing administrative and procedural support to office staff in areas such as purchasing, property management, and mobile devices; and working with management to provide advice and assistance, resolve business service problems, and identify ways to expand, enhance, and improve business services.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degreeOR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

A combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Promotion potential: Promotion to the next grade level is at management's discretion and is based on your meeting qualifications and time-in-grade requirements, demonstrated ability to perform the higher-level duties, the continuing need for the higher-level duties, and administrative approval. Promotion to the next grade level is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.
