You will serve as a Facility Operations Specialist in the Facilities Management Division, Public Works Department Naval Research Laboratory Washington DC of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH. This is a developmental position with a full performance level of GS-12. Applications will be accepted at both the GS-11 and GS-12 levels.

Duties

You will review all projects for scope, complexity, and design insuring all data is recorded into corporate data management systems (i.e. MAXIMO). You will perform facility inspections and apply knowledge of all trades and structures to assess and record repair/replacement requirements and estimates into data management systems. You will conduct periodic meetings and visits to identify facility problems. You will visit Supported Command sites to determine the actual nature of work requests and entering any clarifications into Maximo. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. You will perform as customer liaison for service contracts and conducting assessments on completed work to ensure Supported Command satisfaction. You will meet representatives of the shops and contracting office to review work in progress in their areas and identify issues and concerns associated with the projects.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
  • You will be required to become familiar with specific and unique Supported Command technical mission requirements.
  • You may be required to obtain and maintain a current local government license to operate a government vehicle to report to various job sites.

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting periodic meetings and visits to identify facility problems, facilitating work execution, and providing a vice on the Supported Command's projects and concerns; 2) Performing facility inspections and applying knowledge of all trades and structures to assess and record repair/replacement requirements and estimates into data management systems; 3) Visiting Supported Command sites to determine the actual nature of work requests and entering any clarifications into Maximo; 4) Performing as customer liaison for service contracts and conducting assessments on completed work to ensure Supported Command satisfaction; 5) Meeting representatives of the shops and contracting office to review work in progress in their areas and identify issues and concerns associated with the projects. Education

For the GS-11: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a doctoral degree

OR

Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
