As a Staff Assistant you will assist the Director, Associate Director, and Administrative Officer in the correct and efficient handling of the procedural and administrative aspects of OEDCA's duties associated with the processing of EEO complaints, to include internal database management, performing program and managing organizational correspondence and other communication with groups and individuals within and outside of the OEDCA and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Duties
Develop a Style Manual for OEDCA that will standardize all correspondence issued by the office, thereby allowing the administrative staff to work more efficiently, eliminating the need to additional reviews.
Prepare monthly reports to determine if strategy is accomplishing the goal, and if not, make recommendations to correct it.
Develop methods to leverage technology to expedite distribution of OEDCA’s work product, to include Final Agency Decisions and Final Orders, to all parties.
The incumbent will provide technical guidance and support to staff members at the GS-2 through GS-7 level.
The incumbent is responsible for briefing, orally or in writing, the Associate Director or Director, regarding such contacts.

To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-07) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves (1) Representing management in meetings; (2) Developing Standard Operating Procedures; (3) Preparing EEO reports.
