You will serve as a Supervisory IT Specialist(Hos ting/Data Mgmt) for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Capital Access (OCA), Disaster Systems Support Division (DSSD) in Herndon, Virginia. This position manages a team of IT Specialists responsible for hosting the operations of a mission-critical, complex, enterprise-wide disaster loan management system in support of the OCA mission.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist(Hosting/Data Mgmt) at the GS-2210-14, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Supervises a diverse IT workforce that enables and requires innovation and cross-organizational collaboration to achieve mission goals.
Serves as the technical authority for Operations, Hosting, Network Support, and Infrastructure as a Services (IAAS) Support.
Maintains enterprise-wide hosting and operations of a mission-critical, complex, enterprise-wise disaster loan management system.
Plans, designs, engineers, troubleshoots, procures, installs, optimizes, decommissions, and operates network and application servers, operating system software and peripheral network infrastructure equipment.
Creates and executes process documentation, configuration management plans, operations policies, backup and recovery, disaster recovery and contingency plans, and patch management plans.
Acts as a technical representative in configuration and use of office information technology.
Manages and monitors contractor performance, authorizes payment vouchers.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This is a Permanent position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time work schedule.
If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.

This position is not included in a bargaining unit.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.

- A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary period for non-supervisors if you fail to complete the one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period.
- This position is not included in a bargaining unit.
Qualifications
Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below.
Federal status applicants must meet both Time-In-Grade AND experience requirements by the closing date of this announcement. However, if you have separated from the Federal Government for at least 52 weeks, you are not subject to the Time-in-Grade requirement.
Time-In-Grade Requirement:
GS-14: Must have held grade GS-13 for 52 weeks
Experience:
To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. Average work hours must be stated on the resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level.

GS-14: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-13 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
Leading or supervising day-to-day IT operations or IT project teams in an organization to meet mission and/or goals;
Using network systems management methods, network architecture, and topology to optimize and monitor end-to-end systems performance, transmissions protocols;
Developing policies, procedures, and strategies that ensure optimization and integration in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network systems operating environment; and
Implementing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
