This position is in the Smithsonian Institution, Office of the Chief Information Officer. Responsible for planning and managing all elements related to the Information Technology Security for Smithsonian’s information technology infrastructure, and maintenance of an enterprise-wide information technology security program.

Duties
As an IT Project Manager (INFOSEC) you will perform duties and activities necessary to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the Institution’s data, automated information systems, and supporting information technology infrastructure. The following duties will be performed:

Qualifications
GS-14 Experience: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position Specialized experience is defined as leading a technical team in the support of IT security projects applying knowledge of IT security architecture and technologies for an enterprise-level organization. This includes experience analyzing current information technology security threats, vulnerabilities and malware, and recognizing patterns of complex threat actor behavior and providing solutions to mitigate the risks posed by the threats.

Handles technical, sensitive, or controversial topics with agility involving executives/managers as appropriate.
Problem Solving: Identifies and analyzes problems, weighs relevance and accuracy of information, generates, and evaluates alternative solutions, and makes sound recommendations.
