You will serve as an IT Specialist (NETWORK) as the GG-13 grade level responsible for supporting department mission to operate, maintain, safeguard, and sustain currently fielded Information Technology (IT) architecture at the tactical edge; predominantly SCI networks in the assigned geographic area of responsibility .
Duties
You will coordinate the work of the team, establishes priorities, guides team members and is responsible for accuracy and completeness of the team products.
You will maintain telecommunication transport circuit configurations.
You will maintain and utilize testing facilities simulating local area network (LAN) and JWICS wide area network (WAN) architectures for troubleshooting and solutions.
You will utilize networking technologies such as ATM and Ethernet variants (Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Switched Ethernet, etc.), protocol analysis (TCP/IP), routing principles, and traffic analysis.
You will maintain site records, working with customers to define IT needs, complete required documentation, coordinate with cognizant Special Security Offices and DOD/Navy IT and information assurance enterprise governance.
You will perform troubleshooting and fault isolation in network environments.
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
- This position may be subject to polygraph examination.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 44 level 02 within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as:
1. Plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments utilizing IT systems and services to include installation, operation, and maintenance of automated communications systems and other desktop technologies.
2. Develop new methods, approaches and procedures and provides advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues.
3. Conduct analysis and recommends resolutions of complex issues impacting operations in varying specialty area.
4. Diagnose, analyze and resolve IT systems, software and/or hardware problems.
