You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Infrastructure Division of NSWC CARD DIV D.

Duties

You will perform a full range of duties associated with facilities operations and maintenance including day to day activities which encompasses a broad spectrum of services, competencies, processes, and tools. You will use life cycle management skills to ensure facilities systems and equipment operate at a maximum efficiency for continued utilization and operational issues are minimized. You will work in conjunction or concurrently with technical codes and activities professional and administrative staff. You will perform facility inspections, analysis, evaluations and identifies facility issues or deficiencies, determines if repairs or renovations are needed and recommends methods for correction. You will receive and interpret policies, instructions and procedures of NSWCCD related to facility projects, operations, safety and health as well as any new guidelines from others, such as management or NAVSEA HQ and disseminates as appropriate. You will plan, organize, carry out and evaluate special projects affecting the overall success of NSWCCD’s mission.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing engineering technician work to support facilities or maintenance by reducing operational issues to maximize efficiency for an organization.
