Purpose of position is to provide supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts requiring unusual degrees of protection in shipment and storage, or other items that are unique to the organization's mission or are seldom handled.

Duties

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns. Provides supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment and/or parts requiring special handling. Determines stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work as first level supervisor. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters. Prepares recurring and special reports. Compiles statistics from data requiring substantial analysis, interpretation, and development of new formats. Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with team members, related functions, and operating officials.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Supply Clerical and Technician Series 2005. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-1, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must includes knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions. Knowledge of supply functions, operations. program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions. Knowledge of supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system. Ability to identify problems, develop and implement innovative detailed strategies to resolve a wide range of programming, and management issues. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems. Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements. Ability to executive complex projects and/or studies within established time constraints. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups within and outside immediate work unit including field-level representatives. Ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and apprise the staff of an organization. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
