Duties
The National Defense Authorization Act for FY2020 approved a new, independent Space Force in the Department of the Air Force. The U.S. Space Force is a military service that organizes, trains & equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. This new military branch is taking shape and recruiting!
The United States Space Force (USSF) is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. USSF responsibilities include developing military space professionals, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands.
Provides supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment and/or parts requiring special handling.
Determines stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion.
Performs property accountability and management. Reconciles property record balances using property inventory balances.
Performs document control work involved in the processing of supply transactions. Edits documents for urgent, critical shortage items or other items requiring special handling.
Performs general clerical support work. Maintains and annotates files with minimal errors providing for easy and timely retrieval/location of material.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Supply Clerical and Technician Series, 2005.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-I, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods; and of policies and procedures for requisitioning and issuing equipment and/or parts. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; and general office administrative and clerical procedures. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters.

EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups within and outside immediate work unit including field-level representatives.
Ability to advise senior leaders, Program Element Monitors and field-level representatives.
Knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods; and of policies and procedures for requisitioning and issuing equipment and/or parts. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; and general office administrative and clerical procedures.
Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters.
Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements; and to conduct extensive searches for information and to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted. Stand without sitting for at least 30 minutes. Have no limitations with regard to physical movements (bending, lifting, reaching, stooping, twisting and squatting, etc.)
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
