About the Position: As the Chief of Readiness and Contingency Operations Division you will serve as principal advisor to the Commander of all matters relating to natural and technology disaster and national serurity emergencies, civil disturbance, and terrorism activities for Wilmington, North Carolina, US Army Corps of Engineers.
Duties
Conduct after-action sessions to develop a district corrective action plan and provides recommendations to the Major Support Command (MSC) and/or Headquarters United States Corps of Engineers (HQUSACE) for improvements in response capabilities.
Serves as Chief of Readiness and Contingency Operations Division.
Serves as a subject matter expert on PL 84-99 and the Stafford Act, and is well versed about authorized projects, Continuing Authorities Programs, and other United States Army Corps of Engineer (USACE) emergency authorities.
Provide overall management of emergencies/disaster operations and planning activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a National Agency Check Investigation of Suitability, as determined by a completed background investigation (TIER-1).
- This is a Mission Essential position.
- Chief, Readiness and Contingency Operations Division must be on call 24 hours per day anddeployable.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid drivers' license.
- Supervisory probationary period is required if employee has not already served.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: Experience providing program advice and recommendations to leadership and staff as needed, on a wide array of program issues including policy applications, project eligibility and program execution for operational readiness and response activities pursuant to public laws, regulations and disaster assistance authority of United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Defense, Department of the Army (DA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and other Federal Agencies.
