You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC in the PUBLIC WORKS BUSINESS LINE of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will perform preventative maintenance on electronic industrial control systems. You will test and diagnose problems and identify malfunctions and the repair required. You will conduct tests and alignments to ensure completed equipment is aligned and functioning properly. You will work on various components of the EMCS (sometimes referred to as the Industrial Control System).

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is an emergency response position. In the event of an emergency, the incumbent may be required to report to work during non-duty/duty hours and during emergency situations; may be assigned duties other than those identified in the position.
  • The employee is subject to a comprehensive medical evaluation and assessment at any time during their employment to assess the employee's ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: 1) Determining requirements for electronic repair; 2) Selecting electronic testing equipment to isolate problems; 3) Applying knowledge of electronic theory and design to diagnose problems with electronic equipment; and 4) Utilizing hand and power tools to install electronic systems.**NOTE** This information must be clearly supported in your resume.
