The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is a component within the Executive Office of the President that helps Federal departments and agencies implement the commitments and priorities of the President. OMB is seeking candidates for Program Examiner positions.
Works with the Resources Management Offices which together with OMB's Budget Review Division, help to carry out OMB's central activity of assisting the President in overseeing the preparation of the Federal Budget an related policy.
Duties

The Health Division engages in analysis, planning, and policy formulation to improve programmatic quality, efficiency, and financial management, with responsibilities divided among five branches.
As a Program Examiner, GS-0301-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Perform legislative, economic, management, financial management, procurement, information resources, regulatory, and organizational analyses.
Develop and analyze major policy issues, highlighting alternative approaches that might be taken to resolve problems, and make and defend recommendations.
Synthesize highly complex and voluminous materials.
Develop and recommend strategies for the approaches to improvement in the value and effectiveness of management systems, field administration, program operations, mid-range and strategic planning, and program evaluation.
Determine the most efficient and cost-effective methods of management and program delivery services as well as an assessment of performance and results.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for the Program Examiner position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
Advising leadership and making recommendation concerning policy;
Improving program performance and efficiency in such areas as budgets, procurement, or information resources;
Synthesizing multiple information sources to effectively communicate conclusions orally or in writing;
Conducting conference and meetings with executive level stakeholders; and
Direct staff and interns by coordinating assigned work and supervising team efforts.

Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
