You will serve as a TRAINING COORDINATOR in the PLANS AND INNOVATION BRANCH, JUDGE ADVOCATE DIVISION (JAD) of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will plan, coordinate and oversee a variety of functions associated with human resource development activities and general legal training support to the Marine Corps legal community. You will plan, coordinate, monitor, and track employees development and training based on the organization's long-range goals. You will research alternate methods of obtaining training and recommend the most cost efficient course of action. You will provide advice, guidance, and assistance to leadership in the administration of training and educational programs which meet program and organizational specific requirements. You will conduct surveys of training needs, locate sources of specialized training and analyze the information obtained. You will determine projected training costs. You will independently prepare statistical reports and make recommendations to improve training methods and efficient fund expenditures for future training requirements. You will prepare appropriate requests and obtain required approvals and funding authority/certification.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: ability to use Microsoft Office platforms (e.g. Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint); performing budgetary functions and developing cost estimates for training events; and, ability to use travel systems (i.e. Defense Travel System). Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:


master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

OR

Possess a combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal 100 percent. Education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
