Duties
Assist with and/or manage the maintenance of warehouse inventory of goods (seed), including tracking, moving, and physical inventory checks.
Lead the production of seed mixing operations for the distribution of mixed seed to field operations.
Ensure the proper storage, care, transportation, and handling of seed within the warehouse system.
Operate and oversee the use of specialized warehouse equipment for the movement of goods including pallet jacks, shrink wrappers, mixers, trailers and other equipment.
Provide customer service to field customers, seed industry representatives, seed testing laboratories, management, and external customers.
Work with new customers to explain processes and operating procedures to facilitate the procurement of seed from the warehouse.
Acquire and maintain certification a as Contraction Officer Representative (COR) and Project Inspector (PI) to assist Contracting Officers in highly complex seed procurement contracts and operational/logistical service contracts.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-09 level you must meet the following:
Experience: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Track the movement of supply inventory from receiving through to distribution to ensure customer satisfaction; experience as a crew leader, supervisor, or team leader; monitor warehouse conditions for proper supply storage conditions regarding storage temperature, humidity, and/or pest mitigation procedures; operate and maintain large mechanized equipment such as seed mixers, refrigerated coolers, shrink wrappers, scales, fork-lifts, four-wheeled vehicles, or large trucks.

Education: Must have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related. You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: Although a fair amount of sedentary work is required, some work requires standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions; occasional lifting and carrying of supplies, equipment, and materials that could weigh 50 pounds, on hard surface floors in a warehouse, yard, or shop areas.
Work Environment: Incumbent works in both inside and outside areas. Warehousing is done in areas that are hot, cold, drafty, and poorly lighted. The work is dirty and dusty. The employee is exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and the safety hazards inherent in warehouse conditions. A substantial amount of the work is performed in an office setting with adequate environmental conditions.
