About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

Duties

Develop a training program to satisfy Department of the Army training requirements. Develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Develop visual aids for trainings. Prepare sufficient lesson plans to ensure a sufficient amount of lessons for each training.

• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
• This position requires the incumbent to meet all requirements for Data and Analysis Level 2 certification within 24 months of being placed on this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing lesson plans for training; 2) Designing classroom instruction material(s) for the organization; and 3) Developing training schedules for training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
