This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB & MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Employees work a 4 day-10-hour work week, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sierra Army Depot is located in the rural northeast California town of Herlong, California. Child care facilities are available.
Duties
Instruct, coordinate and facilitate Sierra Army Depot educational and instructional programs.
Conduct independent research and evaluation of training and educational material.
Develop lesson plans (to standard) and complete programs of instruction with a list of references used.
Accurately follow approved/established lesson plans and Programs of Instruction which indicate subjects to be taught.
Analyze instructional material, equipment facilities and methods in light of objectives and student needs and make recommendations for changes to improve the course.
Maintain accurate records of all data, training requests, after action reports, historical data, lessons learned, and applications for training.
Serve as a liaison for the Total Army Sponsorship Program (TASP).

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty Travel, TDY may be required up to 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the educations and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Teaching in an educational program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment; Developing or assisting in the implementation of educational training programs; Creating and implementing training materials, aids, devices and/or evaluation tools in support of organizational operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade (GS-07). OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: adult education, educational leadership, curriculum development (official transcripts required for credit). OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages (official transcripts required for credit).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
