Duties

****This position is temporary and has a Not-to-Exceed date. However, this position may be extended to the fullest legally allowable period without competition. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds.**** Assures cleanliness of gymnasium facilities, such as courts, weight room equipment, rest rooms, locker rooms. Demonstrates exercise and free weight equipment. Provide assistance at customer service desk. Maintains and prepares outdoor recreational facilities for patron use. Make minor repairs to fitness equipment and notifies manager of any equipment which needs specialized repairs.

• You must be a student currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited college or university
• Must be enrolled at least half-time course load as defined by the education institution (typically six hours or equivalent for undergraduate and three hours or equivalent for graduate) at a qualifying accredited institution
• Must sign a Pathways Participant Agreement
• Must have a good academic standing (no less than 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale for bachelor's programs and 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale for master's program
• Meet the qualification standards of the position at the time of application
• This position is established under the provisions of the Pathways Program
• May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties
• This is a drug testing position
• Full medical physical is required for this position
• Must have a valid Drivers License
• This position may require travel
• Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
• Selectee may be required to serve a trial period

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the generalized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Student Trainee Positions. Failure to submit transcripts, proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university will result in an ineligible rating. Qualifications: For GS-03 grade level: Completion of 30 semester hours or more of post high school study leading towards a qualifying degree (i.e. associate's, bachelor's, master's, etc.) NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. ***For completed educational programs or equivalent during Spring/Summer 2024, proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university for Fall 2024 must be provided** PLEASE NOTE: This is an open continuous announcement and will be used to fill vacancies as openings occur.
