About the Position: These positions serve as an Operations Support Assistant (Office Automation) within the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Training Center, Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

As an Operations Support Assistant (Office Automation), you will perform duties to include, but not limited to the following: Prepares daily and monthly status reports and feeder information to be provided as input to the higher headquarters. Ensures training schedules are fully utilized, shortfalls are identified, logistical support has been arranged that may include transportation to and from barracks/dining facilities/training sites without scheduling conflicts. Maintains administrative personnel records of permanent party members and trainees, conducts in-processing of permanent party members, and maintains records of equipment and furniture. Assists permanent party by obtaining information or referral to appropriate offices for personnel, pay and travel actions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). -OR- Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Human Resources Management. NOTE: Transcripts are required at the time of application. -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. NOTE: Transcripts are required at the time of application. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-5). *All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
