You will serve as a Lead Packaging Specialist in the Packaging, Handling, Storage, & Transportation (PHS&T) Department of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT. #LI-NAVSUPWSS

Duties

You will provide support for NAVSEA, NAVWAR and NAVSUP acquisitions by developing packaging requirements, procedures, and guidance as well as Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) planning and management. You will plan, organize, and resolve complex packaging problems by utilizing original and innovative efforts. You will provide advice and guidance to fleet and field personnel on all aspects of Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation for assigned equipment and systems. You will develop Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation program strategies and policies. You will mentor team members and provide technical expertise regarding packaging requirements or issues. You will coordinate assignments, monitor workload, and adjust schedules as needed to ensure work is completed within established deadlines.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying broad engineering and technical knowledge to resolve complex problems that have a direct impact on high level packaging programs; 2) Creating, justifying, and monitoring program budgets to ensure funds are spent appropriately; 3) Developing packaging requirements/procedures and providing technical guidance on all packaging, handling, and storage matters; 4) Generating packaging data to manage shelf-life and wood packaging material (WPM) items; and 5) Utilizing written and oral communication to deliver technical requirements to customers and team members.
