You will serve as a LEAD PACKAGING SPECIALIST in the Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T) Department, Mechanicsburg Site, of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties

You will formulate plans, organize and resolve complex military packaging problems, and utilize original and innovative efforts. You will manage resources received from acquisition programs, and develop, execute and adjust budgets both within the team and at outsourced activities. You will serve as a primary point of contact within NAVSUP WSS for the development of ongoing policy guidance for PHST matters. You will develop program strategies, policies, and execution plans for these functional areas.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying broad technical knowledge to the resolution of unprecedented problems that have a direct impact on high level packaging engineering programs; 2) Creating, justifying, and monitoring program budgets to ensure funds are spent appropriately; 3) Implementing packaging and storage policy requirements in order to function as a technical expert for all packaging, handling, and storage matters as related to expendable packaging materials and reusable containers; 4) Generating packaging data along with the technical capability to recognize shelf-life and wood packaging (WPM) items; 5) Using written and oral communication to deliver technical requirements to non-technical internal/external customers. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
