You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the Reserve Component Command (RCC) Norfolk's, Navy Reserve Centers(NRC's) (NOSCs) at Supply Department (N4) of NRC CHARLOTTE.

Duties

You will coordinate with local vendor alteration services for eligible Drilling Reserve personnel. You will ensure compliance with DoD Directive 5500.7.R, the Standards of Conduct requirements, and reviews these requirements at least annually by acknowledging and documenting in writing. You will coordinate with vendors on payments and services of reoccurring services to include printing, engraving, shipping, cable, telephone, multifunctional device services. You will perform all Card Holder duties associated with the Government-wide Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC). You will prepare, review, submit, and execute procurement actions chargeable and non-chargeable for supplies, equipment, and services using authorized procurement methods.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a two-week Supply and Fiscal Management course within six months of employment. This requirement may be waived by the unit's Commanding Officer.
  • This position requires weekend drills.

Qualifications

06- Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and/ or extensive knowledge of supply regulations, DoD, NAVSUP and Headquarters instructions and publications pertaining to procurement, simplified acquisition procedures, fiscal accounting, and material expenditure and file administration to ensure FIAR compliancy. Experience utilizing computer-based programs, Web-based acquisition and property accounting systems. Experience maintaining pertinent publications, directives, recurring reports tickler files, correspondence, and filing systems related to supply department functions and procurement filing systems. Experience preparing, reviewing, submitting, and executing procurement actions chargeable and non-chargeable for supplies, equipment, and services using authorized procurement methods. Experience with Microsoft office products, including email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Experience in supply and/or logistics management.
