This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Business Operations (AS).
This position(s) primary purpose is responsible for the daily operation and coordination of activities of the Associate Administrator's office. This position reports directly to the Associate Administrator.

As a Special Assistant, your typical work assignments may include:
Supporting Business Operations efforts to improve the processing of decision documents.
Developing, analyzing, evaluating, reviewing, and advising on projects such as improving the effectiveness of processes and procedures, distribution of work assignments and other management related issues.
Managing, organizing, and prioritizing projects, activities, and timelines in accordance with the agency mission and goals.
Supporting the Associate Administrator on operational matters.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to a GS-13. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:
1) Using qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of management processes and systems; 2) Developing proposed solutions for managers decision making on strategic and trending initiatives. 3) Applying administrative laws, policies, regulations, and procedures to improve efficiency of business processes.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:
