Duties

This position is located under the Office of the Director, located in Washington, District of Columbia. This position is a Special Assistant located in the Office of the Director. ATF's missions are to prevent terrorism, reduce violent crime, and protect the public. These missions are carried out by enforcing Federal laws and regulations related to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, explosives, and arson; supporting and assisting the law enforcement community outreach efforts of the Federal, State, and local and international agencies; providing innovative training programs in support of criminal and regulatory enforcement functions; and other related activities. Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-15, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience includes: Work across directorates/offices to accomplish projects and tasks; AND Prepare and present briefings to Senior Executive's, both orally and in writing; AND Conducts studies to identify operating problems; AND Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative for assessing measures of effectiveness of various programs.
