This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Headquarters of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of development of consumer protection related policy, supervision, examination, and regulatory matters. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-13:  To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience with at least two (2) of the following: (1) monitoring policy related to banking or financial institution products and services; (2) evaluating existing or proposed consumer protection laws, regulations, or requirements (including the Community Reinvestment Act); or (3) developing, editing, or implementing written materials (e.g., policy talking points, summaries, position papers, procedures, or memoranda). CG-14:  To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience with at least two (2) of the following: (1) analyzing and evaluating policy related to banking or financial institution products and services; (2) analyzing and evaluating existing or proposed consumer protection laws, regulations or requirements (including the Community Reinvestment Act); or (3) developing, editing, or implementing written materials (e.g., policy talking points, summaries, position papers, procedures, or memoranda)     Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined “well qualified” for this position.
