Duties
Position applies the requirements of administrative knowledge and skills to plan and coordinate the workload, assigns and adjusts priorities, provides technical advice and policy direction, and performs supervisory personnel administration duties.
Plans and directs the work of the operation and supervises general schedule employees performing complex clerical and administrative work relative to transportation/traffic management functions.
Performs independent analysis resolving difficult issues and problems involving the identification of receipt and evaluation work flow problems.
Serves as the Accountability Officer for mission property, responsible for the accuracy of the depot stock record account and the success of the programs, projects, and functions within the accountable area.
Interprets policy direction from higher levels, developing and/or recommending revisions of local regulations and implementing instructions.
Plans and coordinates program efforts with other internal activities that require interaction between work groups in the various functional areas.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Develops recommendations that may require changes and improvements in receipt and evaluation operations, techniques, and procedures; and usually develops applicable new procedures and policies.
- Conducts studies and projects covering a wide variety of distribution functions.
- Resolves inadequacies of personnel, materials handling equipment, physical facilities, work methods and techniques, and other operational deficiencies that prevent proper receipt, handling, and physical control of material.
B. Education Substitution: Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
