About the Position: The mission of the CCAD is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Perform testing to determine things such as sedimentary characteristics and flow rates, levels for pH, and adds proper amounts of chemicals to precipitate heavy metals. Independently collects samples and conducts tests such as phenol, ion concentration, heavy metal content and concentration, suspended or volatile solids, and chemical contaminants to determine the nature of effluent being discharged into the system. Operate and inspect plant equipment to ensure proper operation, making adjustments and repairs as necessary to meet discharge limitations. Use equipment such as sand filters, bag filters, strainers, processing tanks, pumps, clarifier, and solid state and mechanical control panels and devices.

  • Appointment may be subject to a Tier 1-Non-Sensitive/Low Risk suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A medical examination is required.
  • This position requires situational use of respirator and induction into the respirator program.
  • This position requires process response to call backs.
  • This is a mission essential position for critical areas to meet environmental and site’s emergency action plan.
  • The incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications WG-08 (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common tasks including adjust plant equipment for proper separation of settleable matter from liquid and process non settling solids through a secondary stage equipment. I have the knowledge of how to collect water samples and conduct tests such as chlorine residual, conductivity, acidity, alkalinity, pH, and hardness. I can perform routine operator maintenance such as lubricating, cleaning, and painting wastewater pumping equipment and pipes. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Minimum Qualifications WG-09 (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common tasks including operating chemical pumps, filter press, and feed control valves. I can see that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. I have performed water treatment test to include pH and corrosion control. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts - Operators are subject to long periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, on hard concrete floors while taking readings, cleaning filters, etc. Operators must have the ability to climb ladders, climb over and between pipes, move heavy objects with hand trucks, clear feeders and feed hoppers with long steel rods and be able to do some repair work while wearing self-contained breathing apparatus. Working Conditions - Work is performed in several areas with extreme temperature and humidity variation. Inside work is performed on hard floors such as concrete or quarry tile, and employee may be subject to possible shock and burns, skin irritation and fumes from chemicals. Employee is subject to cyanide inhalation and must be prepared utilize safety equipment within designated equipment and storage areas or while connecting, disconnecting or repairing equipment.
