This position is located in the Management Directorate, Office of Chief Information Officer, Information Security Division.
As an Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (Information Security), you will provide support for all FISMA and RMF activities for USCIS systems, executing and adopting agile principles throughout the system lifecycle.
Duties
The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Plan and execute complex Information Technology (IT) projects while adapting to changing requirements/environments and performing in-depth analysis of IT issues/problems.
Oversee Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) related activities through implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), to monitor/assess trends, identify risks/issues, and provide guidance throughout the system lifecycle.
Perform/oversee Information Assurance/Security Authorization activities by validating artifacts for all USCIS Systems Portfolio and ensure system security controls are implemented correctly, operating as intended, and producing the desired outcome.
Serve as a security Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IT policies that support the IT mission, perform reviews of new and emerging technology, and analyze vulnerability scan data to capture trends across the enterprise and produce security reports.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and execute audit/assessment requests, documents, data, technical comments, and other audit related materials and activities.

GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Monitoring operations and systems to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations, laws, and policies.
Participating in standardization, modernization, and strategic planning of programs and/or operations.
Performing activities related to implementing the Risk Management Framework through the Security Authorization Process, Security Control Assessments, and the Continuous Monitoring/ Ongoing Authorization Program.
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Developing program policies and procedures that align to strategic goals of the agency.
Participating in the Risk Governance and acquisition processes to provide security risks, mitigations, and input on other technical risks.
Providing presentations/briefings (white papers, memos, etc.) and recommendations for senior leadership to understand the risk and controls in place for them to make informed risk-based decisions.
