The Postal Regulatory Commission has an exciting employment opportunity for a highly motivated person with empirical skills and interest in data visualization.
Duties
The Data Visualization Specialist PRC-3 will:
Design and implement data visualizations for reports and dashboards; visualize data by applying data-driven storytelling
Facilitate conversations among analysts and non-technical partners to identify relevant data to communicate
Create, monitor, and periodically update data visualizations, including maps, charts, and infographics for reports and dashboards
Gather feedback to continually improve data visualizations
Support the development of web UX/UI
Support the design, layout, and illustration of communication materials for print and digital platforms, including reports and presentations.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, data scientists, researchers, policy experts, and other partners regarding dashboards and data visualization tools

Qualifications
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
Proficiency using design software like Adobe Creative Cloud applications (XD or Illustrator)
Excellent visual skills, including demonstrable design knowledge, such as layout, typography, color, interaction design
Expertise with charting and other data visualization techniques
Some experience with data journalism, understanding the GIS principles and tools.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and key libraries, especially D3
On-hands experience with data analysis and familiarity with statistical methods
Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Python, Tableau, SAS or other data visualization and analytical software

Education
A. Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Data Science, Computer Science or another relevant field
B. At least 1 year of work experience in data visualization, programming, or data analysis or an equivalent combination of work experience and training that provided professional knowledge of data visualization techniques
OR
C. Associate degree in Web Design, Data Science, Computer Science or another relevant quantitative field
D. At least 3 years of work experience in data visualization, programming, or data analysis or an equivalent combination of work experience and training that provided professional knowledge of data visualization techniques
OR
E. At least 5 years of work experience in data visualization, programming, or data analysis or an equivalent combination of work experience and training that provided professional knowledge of data visualization techniques
