The Program Support Assistant (PSA) provides administrative support by relieving the Columbia HUD VASH staff of routine administrative clerical work, by setting priorities and coordinating duties while working both independently and as part of the HUD-VASH team to achieve the service mission. The incumbent will report to the HUD-VASH program supervisor or designee. The mission of HUD-VASH is to support homeless Veterans to obtain and sustain permanent housing.
Duties
Incumbent performs work involving the collection, compilation, entry, and/or tracking of data and statistical information related to managing referrals to the program, maintaining an accurate program census and database, staffing records, and compliance with The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and Joint Commission requirements.
Incumbent will maintain an updated mailing list of program participants.
Compares data from various sources including VHA Supportive Service Center (VSSC), HOMES, Public Housing Authorities (PHA) lists, collects and analyzes data from quarterly Veteran satisfaction surveys and programs including Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to ensure complete and accurate data. Incumbent works with partnering Housing Authorities to reconcile program data and Housing Authority data to ensure information is concordant. In addition, the incumbent organizes and tracks completion of required staff trainings, especially those needed annually.
Greet Veterans and provide check-in for appointments and walk-ins.
Help Veterans to complete applications for the PHA Housing Choice Voucher, Medicaid and any other applicable application needed.
Receives visits and telephone calls from Veterans, landlords, VA staff, and community partners. Triages calls for urgency, takes accurate and detailed messages, and ensures that appropriate staff receive messages in a timely manner based on urgency of the call.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/12/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS - 06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS -05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to Training personnel in areas related to staffing, budgeting, planning, academics, research, timekeeping, and data analysis/collection; applying practical knowledge with difficult, on-the-job training or experience dealing with the operations, regulations, principles, and peculiarities of the assigned program, function, or activity; understanding of the clinic functions and detailed knowledge of all section clinic grids, schedules, and functions.
