DCSA's Privacy, Civil Liberties, and FOIA (PCLF) office is seeking a Supervisory Government Information Specialist to serve as a Supervisor in the Freedom of Information and Privacy Office for Investigations. Supervisory responsibilities include leading a team of personnel who have a variety of duties required to be executed under the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST the incumbent is responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to the following:

  • The work is predominately sedentary with no unusual physical requirements. The work is performed in an office setting, with some walking, bending, and carrying of files required.

Qualifications

The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened from the Office of Personnel Management's (OPMs) basic qualifications requirements. See: government information series 0306 (opm.gov) for OPM qualification standards, competencies and specialized experience needed to perform the duties of the position as described in the MAJOR DUTIES and QUALIFICATIONS sections of this announcement by 04/08/2024 Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this GS/GG-14 position includes: Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOI/PA) to include policies, procedures, and program management. Protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), System of Records Notices (SORNs), FOI/PA Program administrative appeal processes. Program budget management. Knowledge of DoD policies and procedures in personnel vetting. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Program Management - Applies the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing programs, projects and resources. 2. Policy and Privacy Management - Manages federal agency programs regarding Freedom of information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act, Domestic Privacy, and various applicable regulations, directives and instructions. 3. Customer Service - Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; generates and evaluates alternative solutions; makes recommendations. 5. Leadership - Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations.
