This position will serve as a student trainee and will receive training in analytical methods used to develop objectively based information in support of administrative and programmatic planning, development, evaluation, and managerial decision-making. On-the-job training assignments provide a practical understanding of the organization, programs, policies, and objectives of the agency as well as furnish experience in the application of principles, procedures, and work techniques.
Duties
As a Student Trainee (Management Analyst), you will:
-Assist in any segment of the full range of program operations work done in the organization.
-Participate in the technical reviews of work in progress or finished work products of contractors for accuracy, adequacy, and soundness.
-Aid in the development of procedures and documents for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of applications such as those designed to prevent waste, loss, unauthorized use, and misappropriation of assets.
-Work with the supervisor and senior staff in resolving technical work problems not covered by established policies or procedures.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-9 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Assisting in conducting research and compiling data from multiple sources; AND
-Assisting in creating and implementing improvements to work processes and procedures.
OR Education: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: For the Pathways Internship Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. (This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university.)
OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
Education
Pathways Student Internship Program Education Requirement:
A. Must be a current student at an accredited high school (public or private) or in a home-school program*; college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled) pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. *Secondary home-school curricula must be recognized by the State or local government oversight agency.
B. You must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. If you do not maintain eligibility and enrollment, you are ineligible for this program. C. Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
