This position is located in the Maintenance Division of the United States Bullion Depository, Fort Knox, KY in the Protection Directorate. The function of this facility is to store and safeguard gold bullion valued at billions of dollars. The incumbent of this position serves as Electronics Mechanic Supervisor, with responsibility for the maintenance and repair of electronic and electrical security systems, the exterior and interior of the structure, buildings, fixtures, utilities, and grounds.
Duties
As an Electronics Mechanic Supervisor, you will:
Serve as the supervisor who exercises responsibility for direct supervision in accomplishing and controlling work operations involving subordinate workers. Work involves the supervision of the installation, modification, maintenance, repair and upkeep of the building, outbuildings, off site grounds, electronic, mechanical, electrical systems, utilities, machinery and equipment to ensure continuous operation capability in support of programs and planned security schedules.
Incumbent may be required to serve as a Contracting Officers Representative (COR). Prepares Contract Statement of Work (SOW) and/or Performance Work Statements (PWS) identifying specific work to be accomplished by a contract.
Supervise Electronics Mechanics, Maintenance Mechanics and General Service Workers who maintain and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures for hot water heating systems, sanitary drainage and other plumbing systems and related facilities.
Provide leadership, supervision and technical direction to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the facility water, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, and operational system of elevators through the use of subcontractors, and installation, relocation modification and maintenance of facility electrical systems.
Troubleshoot, provide maintenance for and repairs all phases of the electrical distribution system, such as circuit breaker and switch disconnect panels, emergency standby generation plants, transfer switches and electrical motors and circuitry; floodlighting systems, passenger and freight elevators, various hydraulically operated systems, and air conditioning and heating systems.
