Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base is searching for a Deputy Division Chief for Upgraded Early Warning Radar (NH-1101-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).
Description:
A dynamic leader that is technically skilled and looking to be a part of an amazing team supporting a weapon system located across 5 global locations to include CONUS, AK, UK and Greenland! We are looking for an experienced PM who knows how to solve complex problems with a mindset looking towards the future of our Space Force. We need someone who wants to lead a team across two physical locations (CO and MA) and provides outstanding support to fielded systems that are in the fight today providing missile warning, missile defense and space domain awareness for USSPACECOM, USNORTHCOM and USSTRATCOM! Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager. Effects minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training. Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Develops performance standards. Traditional, 8-hour work day per week/ pay period.
Ideal Candidate:
Experienced Program Manager capable of working with a large team spread across two geographically separated locations. Needs to have initiative and outstanding interpersonal skills to work with a vast array of stakeholders. A self-started who likes to work hard, have fun and solve dynamic problems. Planning and carries out assignments independently; conceives and defines solutions to highly complex problems; analyzes, interprets, and reports findings of projects; and guides technical and programmatic work of team members in comparable junior grades. Completed work and reports are reviewed for feasibility, compatibility with other work or effectiveness in meeting requirements or expected results.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management process and initiatives.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process.
4. Skill to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing.
5. Ability to supervise, mentor, motivate, appraise, and work with subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
