The individual serves as the Executive Assistant providing administrative and programmatic support for all staff in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) (the Agency) Office of Governmental Affairs, Policy, and Strategic Planning (NGA) in the U.S. Department of Transportation (the Department).

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
To qualify for the GS-11 on Experience, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-09 it must include:
Experience applying general administrative procedures and processes associated with the internal functions of an office.
Experience in writing and reviewing non-technical memos, correspondences, reports, and memoranda.
Experience making arrangements for travel, conferences, and meetings.
To qualify for the GS-11 on Education alone, you must have: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. You can also qualify based on a combination of higher level graduate education and experience. This must be fully supported by your resume and transcripts, provided with your application.
To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-11 it must include:
Experience maintaining filing and tracking systems.
To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
Experience preparing procurement requests in at the request of the contract coordinator; consults the contract coordinator to finalize the procurement requests.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to gather and analyze data in order to draft executive summaries and present findings to senior leaders.
Ability to establish and maintain continuing working relationships with individuals at various levels in the public or private sectors.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, analyzing options, reports and evaluations.
Ability to perform a wide variety of complex administrative support duties.
