You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICIAN SPECIALIST in the HULL ARRAYS & DIST SENSOR ENGINEERING BRANCH of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.

Duties

You will support the research, design/development, in-service support of US Navy systems. Including the devlopment of the following; requirements, integrated logistic support documentation, acquisition documents, and logistic planning. You will be required to have a basic understanding of undersea warfare systems utilized in US Navy surface ship and/or submarine SONAR systems as well as fundamentals of logistic support for these systems. You will utilize knowledge of US Navy acquisition rules and US Navy logistic requirements to develop, review, and/or coordinate plans and documentation for providing integrated logistic support services for US Navy SONAR systems. You will will utilize knowledge of the Division's logistics management processes to support Department logistic management efforts on an as-needed basis.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-9/10 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: conducting in-process reviews of engineering and supportability procedures for submarines or submarine systems to determine logistics impacts. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
