This position is located in Retail Securities Services/Division of Securities Accounting & Payments/Judgment Fund Branch. As a Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist, you will oversee and conduct research, analysis, approval, and payment of claims certified to Treasury by the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission of the Department of Justice.
Duties
As a Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist, you will:
- Serve as a technical authority tasked with improving the methods, procedures and effectiveness of current Judgment Fund payment operations as well as the creation and implementation of new programs and systems.
- Define, direct, or serve on special projects or studies in order to obtain greater work efficiency and assess implications on overall program objectives and operations on the Bureau.
- Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Claims Payment staff, ensuring that payment processes and practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
- Serve on committees and task teams concerning all aspects of Judgment Fund payment operations performed by the office.
- Perform first level supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is:
- Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies and guidelines for the purpose of making recommendations, proposing actions and decisions; AND
- Experience providing leadership to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward goals; AND
- Leading projects to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
